Bugden dominates at Timaru

Robbie Bugden showed today a convincing display of riding in Race one of the Superbike class at  the New Zealand Superbike Championship at Levels Raceway near Timaru. Leading from the front , Bugden had a flying start and was never headed. Turning the fastest lap of the race with a 1.03.513 on lap on lap three and pulling away and winning from 14 seconds from Andrew Stroud who found himself having to battle with a freight train of riders . Christchurch's James Smith look to be in a safe third , just in front of Stroud , John Ross , Nick Cole , Sloan Frost , then was gathered up in to the fight. A convincing move by Cole going into turn one saw Smith having to give way and drop to fifth . The freight train continued right up to the last lap with John Ross making a move in to third in the closing stages. At the end it was Bugden , Stroud , Ross , Cole ,Smith , Frost . Only one second covering second to six.

Race two Robbie Bugden and Sloan Frost made the early pace. Slowly Bugden  pulled away  from Frost . Andrew Stroud and Nick Cole had a great battle for third. Further back Ross , Shirriffs , Smith and Scott Moir were all line astern. and their battle went right down to the line , with Shirriffs having a moment but still finishing. In the end it was another win by Bugden with a fine ride by Sloan Frost to take his best finish of the season so far in second. " John Hepburn gave me a few tips of starting and it paid off. " He commented.

In the 600 Races during the weekend , it was the battle of the tight three , Dennis Charlett , John Ross and Glen Skachill. Ross and Skachill took two wins and two thirds with Charlett taking two seconds.
